Process

I have always said that the hardest part of school is getting enrolled. After that, all you have to do is show up. (Woody Allen says that eighty percent of success is showing up).
I've committed to going to Emily Griffith, unless that falls through. I did call Bull Locks again today. I'm sure if I left a message they would call me back, but there's something to be said about calling a school and having somebody answer.
Today, I submitted my application to Emily Griffith. I always worry about the small stuff. The application asked me a lot about residency, which for me, is a shady subject. In a nut shell, I'm a resident. I've been in Colorado continuously for the last year. But I've lived in Michigan as a graduate student and then briefly in California before moving to my home state over a year ago.
The application asked when I became a resident. Well, that was in 1979 when I was born, but I've lived in AZ, WA, MI, and CA. Unless this comes back to affect me, I'll spare the details.
I hope to hear back from one of the counselors there. I have so many questions about loans. Hopefully I can get a grant. Or hey, maybe even use my degree to tutor ESL students for a work study credit. Who knows.
I did see a couple ads in the paper today for some server positions. I used to think that all I really wanted to do was wait tables, but since my experience here in looking for work has been so discouraging, I'm not going bother. Nobody has wanted to hire me over the last year because my work record is erratic, and I have a scary master's degree. It's time to get skilled in a trade.
I feel resolute in my decision to become a barber.
